Alcohol Rehabilitation

The Medical Suite has an excellent working relationship with the Abbeycare Foundation, the only private treatment-centre in the United Kingdom that deals exclusively with alcohol-problems. It is open to anybody aged 18 or older who is looking to stop drinking alcohol for good.

Physiotherapy

Gal Kantor provides physiotherapy treatment to our clients experiencing pain or limited movement.

Physiotherapy is a science based practice that treats injury and disease by external physical methods of reducing pain and restoring normal body movement and function. Treatment includes therapeutic exercise and treatments.

Manipulative physiotherapy involves more precise clinical examination to return problem areas to full function or to stop deterioration. Treatment can include correction of misalignments, joint and soft tissue manipulation.

In each case an accurate clinical assessment will be followed by physiotherapy diagnosis and treatment plan. Guidance for self management of any problems is an integral part of every treatment.

  • Back problems - (nerve injuries, prolapsed disc, misalignments and sciatica)

Neurological Physiotherapy

Neuro Physio Scotland provides an adult neurological physiotherapy service in Edinburgh and Greater Glasgow ofeering specialist assessment and treatment of a wide range of neurological conditions. The physiotherapists at Neuro Physio Scotland all have many years experience of working in neurological physiotherapy, with conditions such as Stroke, Head injury, Parkinson's Disease and Multiple Sclerosis. Saeboflex splints

They are fully trained to assess and provide the complete range of Saebo products: the Saebo Flex, Saebo Stretch and Saebo Reach. These innovative devices can be used to assist improving range of movement and regaining hand function.

Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES)

The Odstock® Dropped Foot Stimulator (ODFS® Pace) is a single channel, foot switch controlled neuromuscular stimulator designed to correct dropped foot. Dropped foot is the inability to lift the foot while walking. Use of FES to correct dropped foot can lead to greater walking range, safety, confidence and independence while walking. Neuro Physio Scotland are fully trained in the use of this device and can provide an assessment, trial of equipment and on-going support.

Psychologists

The Medical Suite works closely with Dr Jack Boyle & Associates who provide chartered psychologists to support children, adolescent and adults with a range of issues.

Dr Jack Boyle, BA, BSc(Econ), MEd, PhD, AFBPsS, CPsychol, is held in high regard for his expertise in legal cases and court work, working on behalf of lawyers, insurance companies, private individuals and the court system. Dr Boyle deals with a range of issues including educational disputes, compensation cases, sexual abuse, contact and residence arrangements as well as assessing children, adolescents and adults. He is registered with the British Psychological Society and Health Professionals Council and also as an expert with the Law Societies of Scotland and Ireland.

Mr Robert Johnstone, MA(Hons), MSc, MEd is a chartered psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society and the Health Professionals Council. Areas of specialty includes assessing preschool children for possible language and learning difficulties. Mr Johnstone also assesses children, adolescent and adults for general learning difficulties, dyslexia, dyspraxia or other specific learning difficulties. In addition to providing a profile of the strengths and support needs, recommendations are also provided on how to best support and address areas of concern.
